Build My Future is a statewide career exploration event for Iowa high school students, focused on hands-on learning and real-world career exposure.
The event will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Designed as an interactive career immersion experience, Build My Future introduces students to a variety of industries and career pathways through demonstrations and hands-on activities led by local employers and organizations. Participants have the opportunity to explore career options, learn about required skills and training, and better understand employment opportunities available across Iowa.
In 2025, the event hosted 7,200 students from more than 120 schools, featured over 20 career pathways, and included over 100 business exhibitors. Continued growth is expected in 2026 as schools and industry partners collaborate to connect students with Iowa’s workforce opportunities.
