Event Description

All Day June 22-28, 2025

The National Junior High Finals Rodeo, one of the largest rodeos in the world, will be held in Des Moines on June 22 – 28, 2025. Approximately 1,200 middle school students that are the “best of the best” from 43 states, 5 provinces in Canada, Australia, and Mexico qualify for the National Junior High Finals Rodeo to compete for thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes.

Contestants will compete in a variety of events, including Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Breakaway Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Chute Dogging, Team Roping, Ribbon Roping and Junior Bull Riding.

In addition to the rodeo, there will also be one of the greatest western tradeshows in the nation! The tradeshow is free and open to the public.

We are looking for volunteers to assist at the contestant check-in, June 19-22, 2025. Volunteer assignments include check-in, vet check, logistics assistance, and more.
