FREE Admission - Voluntary contributions of people and pet items for the food banks.
Three Days of Dog Shows, a great family outing. The shows provide an opportunity to visit and see many breeds in the "Meet the Breed" area and learn about the entire dog show by participating in one of the tours offered several times on Saturday and Sunday. "Shop til you Drop" by visiting the vendor area where one can find anything from beds, books, collars, jewelry and the latest grooming supplies.
Friday is sponsored by the Combined Specialties with 14 individual clubs coming together providing both conformation and obedience classes.
Saturday you will find the Des Moines Obedience Club and the Des Moines Kennel Club. Obedience features 3 l3v3ls, Rally plus a few special classes that are always fun. The Kennel Club conformation features multiple classes in all breeds from 6 months to adult champions competing for Best in Show.
In an effort to assist the local food bank programs we are asking visitors to bring either a dog or cat related food item or people item as a volunteer admission price to the events. Donated items may be left at the Meet the Breed both inside the Grand Ave entrance to the VI Bldg. We are fortunate to live in a city that recognizes both human and animals needs and work to keep pets in their homes by assisting inthis manner. We thank everyone for their help.
New for this Year...
On Friday afternoon, the Des Moines Obedience training club will be holding a Rally Trial. The newest form of obedience that people can earn degrees and titles in.
At noon on Saturday and Sunday, we are having dog demonstrations. Anything from drug dog demonstration, agility demonstration, herding, pack-hike demonstration.
People will be wearing bright shirts that say "ASK ME" circulating through the shows during the weekend. These individuals will be your helpful hand throughout the show!
